LtCol Eric M. Lindsay, USMCR(Ret) – 2018

LtCol Eric M. Lindsay, USMCR(Ret), passed away suddenly on 28 July 2018. A member and past president of the “Mighty” Quantico Chapter, Eric made great strides in diversity recruiting and mentoring junior officers, keeping with the mission of our great organization.  His passion for the Marine Corps and diversity initiatives were apparent in all he did, directly contributing to the chapter winning national recognition, as well as the Marine Corps earning the Effie Award (in the African American category) for its national commercial, “Leap” in 2010.

He is survived by his loving children: Amanda, Elise and Eric Jr.; as well as siblings: Joyce, Donald, Michael and Ian (Tony).

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, 3 August, 2018 at 10am at the Marine Corps Base Quantico Chapel.  Homegoing services will take place on Saturday, 4 August, 2018 at 1pm at Galilee United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC.

MACON, Ga. — Long before he ever flew in a plane, Alvin Holsey dreamed of someday becoming a pilot.

Growing up in Fort Valley, his closest contact to an aircraft was watching a yellow crop duster spraying a soybean field, and he was fascinated at how it came in low and slow.
