Transition Assistance
Greetings NNOA family!
My name is Captain Ron Evans, USN (Ret.) and I am a proud 27 year Navy veteran, having served in a variety of rewarding tours. As with so many of us, I thought I was prepared for the transition to the civilian workforce, partly because I attended the TAP course and secondly because all of my seniors told me that when I get my resume on the street, my phone would be “ringing off the hook”. Needless to say, they were wrong and so was I. I made just about every mistake possible with my transition from the resume, importance of networking, interviewing process, and having an idea of how much I was worth($) on the outside. I also learned quite a bit about the VA rating process, unfortunately, after transition.
We now have a unique opportunity to introduce to you lessons learned (via webinar fireside chats) from a cadre of superstar veterans who have much to share. Currently under construction and under the umbrella of Ernie Taylor, our NNOA Veterans representative, our webpage will be a segment titled “Transition Assistance Team “ and will feature names, bios, and contact information of Veterans representing profit, non-profit, entrepreneurship, academia, and government background/experiences. We will also have expertise from MOAA’s transition assistance programs, senior executives representing various backgrounds, human resources, finance, and more.
The transition assistance team is forming and soon our webpage we will be up and running. In the meantime, those of you who are facing transition, don’t hesitate to reach out to me and I will connect you with the right teammates who I am certain, will contribute to your transition success!
