CDR Stacey O’Neal, USN
CDR Stacey O’Neal is a native of Greenville, Mississippi. She enlisted in the Navy as a Machinist Mate in 1994, serving onboard USS PLATTE (AO-186) until December 1998. In January of 1999 she was assigned to the Cryogenics (O2N2) shop aboard USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) in Mayport, Florida where she was commissioned through the Enlisted Commissioning Program (ECP).
She has a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of North Florida (UNF). After commissioning she reported to USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG-93) home ported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as the Mine Warfare Officer. Her second Division Officer tour was USS HUE CITY (CG-66) in Mayport, Florida as the Training Officer.
Ashore, she was assigned to the Surface Warfare Officers School Command (SWOS) in Newport, Rhode Island in N72 shop for the Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE). Upon completion of her tour at SWOS, she completed a year sabbatical through the Graduate Education Voucher program (GEV). During this year she finished her Master of Science in Management from Salve Regina University and Joint Military Professional Education (JPME Phase I) through distance at the Naval War College.
After completing Department Head School, she was assigned to USS DONALD COOK (DDG-75) out of Norfolk, Virginia as the Chief Engineering Officer. Upon completion of this tour she was assigned to Littoral Combat Ship Crew (LCS) 212 in San Diego, California as the Operation Officer from May 2013 to November 2015. Upon completion of the tour at LCS, CDR O’Neal went back to Newport, Rhode Island as Auxiliaries and Electrical Officer Course Lead and later that year she was assigned as the Command Qualification Coordinator. After completing her tour at SWO, she attended the Naval War College, completing a Master of Strategy and earning JPME Phase II. CDR O’Neal is currently serving as Executive Officer at Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio. CDR O’Neal is an active member of the Surface Navy Association and the National Naval Officers Association (NNOA). CDR O’Neal is actively serving as the Central Region President for NNOA.
