
2017 NNOA STEM Youth Event
The National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) is accepting applications for its Second Annual Youth Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Day event on July 26, 2017. The event will offer unique opportunities to minority, disadvantaged and underserved community students to explore prospective careers in the fields of robotics and unmanned systems. Participants will observe the student built-and-designed robotic submarines featured in the 2017 International RoboSub Competition and meet scientists, researchers, and engineers from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific), a recognized leader in autonomous unmanned systems.
This event will be held from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at SSP Pacific TRANSDEC, 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, CA 92106. This NNOA STEM YOUTH event is open to all San Diego area students in grades 8 through 12.
Students will be mentored by military officers and STEM professionals, experience STEM within the space and sea service environment, and learn about military scholarships and training programs.
The NNOA STEM YOUTH DAY is happening in conjunction with the 2017 NNOA Professional Development Symposium at the Admiral Kidd Catering Conference Center, San Diego, CA July 26–27, 2017.
