Lt. Cmdr. Carl Pennycooke reported to Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Business Systems Center in Mechanicsburg, Pa., January 2018.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University and his Master of Business Administration degree in information systems management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also earned an additional Master’s degree from National University.
Pennycooke enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2001 and advanced through the ranks to Petty Officer 2nd Class. His enlisted career included tours at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Va., and aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). His operational assignments include: assistant supply officer, USS Elrod (FFG 55) and stock control and customer service officer, USS Emory S. Land (AS 39).
His shore assignments include: assistant supply officer, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Regional Supply Office Oceana; transportation intern/special projects, NAVSUP Global Logistics Support, Norfolk, Va.; air routing officer, Combined Task Force 53, Manama, Bahrain. He has earned qualifications in both Naval Aviation Supply Corps and Surface Warfare Supply Corps.
He is entitled to wear the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (one award), and various campaign and unit awards.
