AMENDMENTS

Amendment Voting Open Now and Closes 1600/ET, Aug. 9th

Only financially current members will be able to vote and discuss proposed amendments.  Proposals, including amendments to Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, will be voted on electronically through the NNOA website. Please forward all proposals to me via e-mail or use the NNOA website portal. For proposals to be voted on during the National Symposium, they must be received by 17 July 2018. Proposals forwarded after this time will be presented to the General Body after 8 August 2018. Voting on Amendments opens 1 August 2018 and ends 1600 EDT on Thursday, 9 August 2018.

Remove the Far Eastern Regional Vice President position from the officers of the NNOA Board (NNOA Corporation) – Currently, the Articles of Incorporation lists four regional Vice Presidents as members of the NNOA Board of Directors/ Officers of the NNOA Corporation.  The Far Eastern Regional Vice President position is one of the four and in recent history has only had one active Chapter in that region – the Okinawa Chapter. There is no incumbent in the Far Eastern Regional Vice President position. PROPOSAL:  In order to allow the Okinawa Chapter to align under NNOA’s Western Region and the Western Regional Vice President, and in order to streamline NNOA’s national activities, remove the Far Eastern Regional Vice President position.

Establish a “NNOA Events Director” on the Board of Directors appointed by the NNOA President (or BoD). Currently, there is no single coordinator of the NNOA HQ events. The Regional VPs and the local Chapter where the capstone event, the National Symposium, is held manage the annual planning requirements. Creation of the position would consolidate this rotating responsibility into a single organizational element, allowing for focused, unified coordination of this capstone event, as well as sponsorship of and participation in all other NNOA National HQ events (e.g., BEYA, S-A-S, etc). In support of the capstone event, the Director serves as the Annual Leadership Symposium Chair responsible for coordination in conjunction with the host Regional VP and local Chapter. This action eliminates primary responsibility with RVPs and will allow RVPs to renew their focus on Chapter guidance and growth vice Symposium planning. PROPOSAL: In order to facilitate consistent NNOA marketing and messaging across all events and to support annual event planning, budgeting, and scheduling, establish a NNOA Events Director position on the NNOA Board of Directors/Officers of the Corporation appointed by the President.
