LT Christina L. Johns

Lieutenant Christina L. Johns was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Martin Luther King Jr., High School in 2007. In August of 2007, she reported to the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island as a Midshipman Candidate.

After completing the Naval Academy Preparatory School program she received an appointment  to the United States Naval Academy as a member of the Class of 2012. She reported to Annapolis, Maryland in July 2008 as a Midshipman Fourth Class. In May 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in History and commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy.

In August 2012, she reported to USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95) homeported out of Norfolk, VA for her first division officer tour. While on board USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95) she served as the Main Propulsion Division Officer, CA Division Officer, ADMIN Officer, and Legal Officer. She also earned her OOD letter and Surface Warfare Qualification during her time on board.

After completing the Advanced Steam Engineering course and Advance Division Officer’s Course in Newport, Rhode Island, she reported to USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7) as the Main Engines Officer in August 2015.

Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
